Max Forrester
Dr Max Forrester.

Max trained at the University of Bristol Medical School from 1977 to 1982. He is a former GP and former Associate Specialist Physician. He trained in acupuncture on the British Medical Acupuncture Society Foundation Course in 1994 and followed this up with a Diploma (Diploma in Medical Acupuncture) in 2002. He attained a Master of Science from the University of Hertfordshire in Western Medical Acupuncture in 2014.

In 1996 he set up the Back Pain Service Acupuncture Clinic in Taunton. In 2004 he helped run the BMAS Back Pain Day in London. He has published case reports on Grey Turner’s Sign (Grey Turner Revisited) in the European Journal of Internal Medicine(2001), and Low Back Pain in Pregnancy in Acupuncture in Medicine (2003), and a letter to the Editor, Acupuncture for Intractable Hiccups in Acupuncture in Medicine(2003). He used to teach for the British Medical Acupuncture Society on their:

He has also exhibited numerous posters and serves as a peer reviewer for Acupuncture in Medicine and The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. He was a member of the BMAS Council and has been the Honorary Treasurer and President of the BMAS. He has taught and examined for the BMAS and helps co-ordinate PAG, the Peninsular Acupuncture Group.

He has a particular interest in self-acupuncture and electroacupuncture. He enjoys seeing patients with a variety of conditions at St. John’s Physiotherapy Practice in Taunton, Somerset.
